Dusting Off The Guitar

More Music

I got a bit of time to upload some new songs and other ones which I have had the chance to edit. Been a while since I have had the time to do so and it feels good to revisit songs which I haven’t listened to since I recorded them.

So here they are. Ranging from original songs (and an original song / story about the Irish Famine) and a few cover songs too.

I hope you like them.

Rumours (original song about the Irish Famine)

Last Night (acoustic cover of The Strokes song)

I’ll Meet You There One Day (original song for Palestine)

There Won’t Be Many Coming Home (Roy Orbison cover)

Hello (Adele Cover)

Rust (original)

Rivers Run Clear (original)

Singer / Songwriter Competition

Lifebelt

I decided to enter a singer / songwriter competition for the craic. Like various attempts in the past I will probably receive a juicy rejection email but sure it’s all for a bit of fun anyway.

I wrote and recorded a new song recently and it just so happened to be 3 minutes long which was a stipulation for the competition. So if you have 3 minutes to spare please have a listen to it.

You can vote also but only do so if you think its alright 🙂

Junior Chills – Far From The Road

Far From The Road (original)

This is a song I wrote several months ago in an attempt to compose a simplistic song. Very basic chord progressions and lyrics seemed to fit together well so I thought it was a good time to put it online.

Bit of a stretch vocally but sure if you don’t try, you won’t know…

I suppose, looking at it, Far From The Road is a bit of a romantic number. It discusses how places link memories, how affection can make everything else seem irrelevant…quite like Blanche I suppose with her quote ‘ There are things that happen between a man and woman in the dark that sort of make everything else seem unimportant’.

Just a thought. Just a song.

I hope you like it.
