Dusting Off The Guitar

More Music

I got a bit of time to upload some new songs and other ones which I have had the chance to edit. Been a while since I have had the time to do so and it feels good to revisit songs which I haven’t listened to since I recorded them.

So here they are. Ranging from original songs (and an original song / story about the Irish Famine) and a few cover songs too.

I hope you like them.

Rumours (original song about the Irish Famine)

Last Night (acoustic cover of The Strokes song)

I’ll Meet You There One Day (original song for Palestine)

There Won’t Be Many Coming Home (Roy Orbison cover)

Hello (Adele Cover)

Rust (original)

Rivers Run Clear (original)

Junior Chills – Back Down South (of Ireland)

Back Down South (of Ireland)

While practising the Kings of Leon song ‘Back Down South’, I thought that I would put my own lyrics to the song and make it about Ireland. I’ll not get into the geography / politics (which do indeed come hand in hand) of the situation but I thought I would amend the song to look at visiting the Republic of Ireland i.e. going back down south.

In the song I discuss Luke Kelly, Christy Moore, the Garda, Food, Culchies and the Euros. Maybe it can be my own song for Ireland at the Euros this year.

Fuck it. This is my song for Ireland at the Euros this year.

I hope you like it.

Junior Chills – The Auld Triangle (Cover)

The Auld Triangle

Knowing that I could never replicate Luke Kelly’s unreal rendition of The Auld Triangle, I tried to cover the song as best as I could. It is pretty far removed from Luke Kelly’s version, hopefully in a good way. I threw a few chords together and sang the lyrics as best as I could…I didn’t even attempt to sing it like Luke Kelly!!

Brendan Behan, the Irish poet,¬†wrote The Auld Triangle. I think other than this song, the best thing I have heard about / from Behan was that apparently when asked what he was doing in Canada he said that he saw a sign saying ‘Drink Canada Dry’ and wanted to give it a go. Fuckin’ love that story!

Anyway…Here is my version of The Auld Triangle.

I hope you like it.
